Polybutylene Pipe Expert Witness Testimony

• Polybutylene (PB) pipe was used in water service lines in the U.S. from the late 1970s to mid-1990s.
• The pipe has been subject to significant litigation since the early 1980s. The major tenet of the litigation is the fact that the pipe will oxidize, weaken, and crack under the chlorination levels required by the EPA regulations adopted in the late 1970s (Clean Water Act).
• GAI is working with the Coweta County Water and Sewerage Authority to calculate the damages associated with the early product failure in support of litigation.
