Line and Substation Design Print E-mail

Transmission line design involves a broad range of engineering services, from foundation investigation, computer modeling, and corridor mapping to design development and construction management. GAI provides comprehensive services for new above-ground lines and structures, underground lines and manholes, and corridor routing, as well as tower retrofits, and reconductoring and uprating studies.

GAI's capabilities in substation analysis and design include site selection and development, equipment selection, and layout. Our start-to-finish involvement begins with project initialization, continues through energization of the line, and follows up with training and maintenance plans.

  • Underground line and manhole design (69kV to 345kV)
  • Overhead line, pole, tower, and foundation design (34.5kV to 765kV)
  • Substation siting, permitting, foundation analysis, equipment layout and design
  • Conductor movement analyses and solution recommendation
  • Reconductoring and uprating studies
  • Construction monitoring, administration, and cost estimating
