Whether you're in power generation, natural gas transmission and storage, electric transmission, alternative power generation or a government agency, GAI can help. We help get your energy projects off the ground, on the right track, and focused on your main objective: success.
Growing environmental concern regarding emissions has led energy producers to search for alternatives to the traditional burning of fossil fuels for energy production. Wind, biofuels, hydroelectric, waste to energy, and solar energy production are becoming increasingly common. GAI provides quality services to alternative energy producers by combining our experience in traditional energy production with innovative, technology-based solutions.
Alternative Energy Projects
Energy projects require fast-turn-around and developing trust with the regulatory agencies to make that happen. GAI’s experience in expediting cultural resource surveys and FERC reports for energy projects includes developing Programmatic Agreements with SHPOs and federal agencies, applying streamlined field work efforts and expediting report reviews. For more than 30 years we’ve helped our energy clients through the state public utility and FERC pre-filing and certification process for projects such as natural gas pipelines and storage fields, LNG receiving terminals and storage facilities, compressor stations, roadways, power plants, nuclear plants and electric transmission lines.
Cultural Resources Energy Projects
Our involvement in electric transmission and distribution line siting and design is award-winning and global. On a range of projects, we provide siting, permitting, public information workshops, expert witness testimony, PUC applications, alternative route evaluation, preliminary design, surveying, property and deed research, right-of-way acquisition, archaeological investigations, geotechnical investigations, structure and foundation analysis and design, preparation of construction documents, construction monitoring and administration, as-built drawing preparation, development of loading criteria, construction cost estimating and failure analyses.
Electric Transmission Projects
GAI has been expanding our range of services for industrial clients for over twenty years to include permitting, site development, environmental assessment and compliance services, environmental, geotechnical and structural engineering, construction management and QA/QC monitoring, and Brownfield site development. We offer services to industrial clients including oil refineries, pharmaceutical production companies, and steel and metal, chemical and petrochemical, automotive, and heavy and light manufacturing facilities.
Industrial Projects
Our experience with natural gas production, transmission, storage and distribution facilities contributes to timely, accurate, and cost-effective solutions for our natural gas clients. We provide FERC certification, environmental permitting, air quality permitting, pipeline siting, land identification and acquisition, cultural resources investigation, comprehensive pipeline routing, ROW survey, construction staking, pipeline and facility construction QA/QC monitoring, and environmental inspection.
Natural Gas Projects
Our power generation services are award-winning in the industry. We bring expertise in power plant siting, design and environmental permitting, construction management and QA/QC monitoring services. GAI also offers outage maintenance services, engineering, O&M strategy development and inspection services, and commissioning and start-up services. We are world-renowned for our innovations in coal combustion by-product management. For disposal sites, we provide siting, design, permitting, by-product utilization, and marketing studies.
Power Generation Projects
GAI provides comprehensive surveying services for a wide range of applications significant to the energy industry, meeting the specifications of clients extending from gas and electric utilities to alternative energy developments by utilizing our specialized staff along with the latest technology and equipment. Our expertise includes survey work in right of way assessment, aerial mapping control, cross sections, alignment layout, utility investigation, global positioning systems (GPS) control, topographic, bathymetric and hydrographic surveying, movement monitoring, wetland mitigation, and design, construction and property surveys. GAI also offers specialized surveying applications such as 3-D modeling, GPS networking, record surveys (as-builts), ALTA land title surveys, and verification surveys on projects both pre- and post-construction.
Survey Projects
GAI has been involved in several major underground high voltage (HV) electric transmission line projects throughout the country that have advanced our experience and capabilities. Our services include surveying, property and deed research, geotechnical investigations, ground penetrating radar, utility and street mapping, alternative route evaluations, construction cost estimates, route selection and design, permitting, E&S controls, and construction administration and monitoring.
