Description: The firm has an immediate opening for a Field Director working out of its Ohio office. Initial project work assignments and direction will come from the Pittsburgh office. This is a mid level position that requires a B.A. or M.A. in anthropology/archaeology with no less than 3 to 4 years supervisory experience.

Candidates must have experience directing Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III studies in the Mid Atlantic or Midwest region on both prehistoric and historic archaeological sites and must be able to meet tight project schedules. While these individuals will often work under the direction of a Principal Investigator, it is anticipated that Field Directors will operate independently in many cases. The Field Director will also be responsible for marketing GAI's cultural resource services to current and prospective clients in the southwest region of Ohio as well as portions of Kentucky and Indiana (estimated to be 20% of job duties on average).

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their communication, organizational, logistical, and technical skills for this position as it requires significant interaction with field crew, office and laboratory staff, and client representatives. The Field Director’s primary responsibilities will be the supervision of field crews involving the direction of the crew chief and coordination with the Principal Investigator (PI) and Laboratory Director. In close cooperation with the PI, they may also coordinate the work of draftspersons and support personnel necessary for the production of draft and final reports and contribute to the preparation of proposals (i.e., field estimates). Responsibilities will include permitting, regulatory assessments, compliance audits, emissions inventories and reporting, control strategy development and technology assessments, and ambient air and stack monitoring plans. Will be involved in business development of air quality and environmental services for new and existing clients. Prospective candidates should have previous experience in the development and delivery of environmental services to industrial and energy clients and a B.S. degree. Registered P.E. in Pennsylvania or professional certification is preferred. Work may require travel domestically and internationally.
